The Historic Rios-Caledonia Adobe was built in 1835 just south of the San Miguel Mission as a home for the overseer of Mission lands. It is located on the old mission trail between San Francisco and Los Angeles and is eight miles north of Paso Robles. This historic site is well preserved with the original Inn and Stagecoach stop now a museum and small gift shop. The grounds are beautifully maintained by San Luis Obispo County Parks with picnic sites and restrooms available.
Born in Denmark in 1948. After years of traveling I came to America in time for the Bicentennial in 1976. The first ten years in Hawaii, before settling here. My photography centers on my love for the natural world and the beauty of The Central Coast. We have so many wonderful hiking trails, small delightful towns and villages, secret beaches and remote hills. In winter the area will be richly green, as summer takes over our beloved hills turn to gold. It has been a great joy to be able to share my love of these places with others through photography.
Founded in 1797, Mission San Miguel is a National Historical Landmark that has been an important part of Central Coast history for over 200 years. Come experience the rich history of Mission San Miguel.
San Miguel's Last remaining one-room school house is now maintained by the Pleasant Valley Community Foundation. This local group puts 100% of it's proceeds back in to the preservation and rehabilitation of this 1904 structure. The building is available to rent for your meeting or event, or attend an annual event like their 4th of July Flag Raising! Donate to the cause today:
